According to a new report from Fightful Select, Hangman Adam Page is set to take time off following his loss to MJF for the AEW World Title at Revolution.
Tonight’s Dynamite is the fallout from Saturday’s Revolution, live on TBS and HBO Max from the Save Mart Center in Fresno, California. It also unclear per the report, if Page’s time away will begin immediately or in the coming weeks.
With Page losing the match, the stipulation was that he can now can no longer challenge for the World Championship, which is the same as to what Cody Rhodes agreed to after his loss to Chris Jericho at the Full Gear PPV back in 2019. The storyline is that Page and AEW head Tony Khan agreed upon stipulation was a gentlemen’s handshake, which is what Khan and Rhodes did.
During the AEW Revolution Media-Scrum that followed, Khan was asked about the stipulation:
“It’s the same thing with Cody, it was a gentleman’s handshake with both of them,” Khan responded when asked how strict the stipulation is. “They both came to me and said, ‘I want to put this at stake.’ And both of them, I told them, ‘That sounds f—- nuts, dude.’ Both of them really wanted to do it. And in both cases I said, ‘Are you sure?’ And they both said, ‘Yeah.’ So it is an agreement we made. Second time it’s happened. [Page] is somebody that’s known for being a man of his word, and we made an agreement. So it’s a verbal contract.” that’s known for being a man of his word, and we made an agreement. So it’s a verbal contract.”
