Dos Caras Jr. Explains Rudo Turn
This week Dos Caras Jr. spoke to reporters and said that he was sick of Hector Garza always screwing up when they teamed together (which he points out is what got Garza kicked out of PdM, ouch) so he did what he had to do. He also said that he was pissed the fans were siding with Garza and anyone that stands with Garza is against him as well. He was asked if he would join Hijo de Avernos but he simply said “I’m definitely better then them.”

* NOTES *
– Apparantley Rosa & Marcela was a pretty brutal match. Marcela went for a dive on Rosa but she moved and Marcela nailed the rampway. In the finish Rosa was said to have suffered a possible severe elbow injury. Rosa Negra’s real name is Jessica Dayna Hernandez and she is originally from Mexico City (no age was given). Rosa was stretchered out from the match. The following is the only picture of Rosa taken after her mask was removed, being stretchered away (as she didnt stay for the usual pictures taken after a wrestler losers the mask due to her injury):

– In the semi-main Dos turned on his partners allowing the rudos to get the win.
– In the Main Event Negro successfully defended his belt against the former champion in what was said to be another fine outting from the two.

* NOTES *
– I finally have a handle on this damn tournament. Anyway, going into this show the teams of Palacio Negro & Samurai and Boomerang & Gallo had the best chances to win. Negro & Samurai won their match, giving them the lead with 8 points, but Boomerang & Gallo still could win the tournament if they won their match (as they had 7), but Malefico yanked Gallo’s mask behind the referee’s back and picked up the pin costing them the tournament. The following is the complete results from the tournament:
– Winners: Palacio Negro & Samurai – 8 points (4 wins, 1 loss)
– Runner Ups: Boomerang & Gallo – 7 points (3 wins, 1 loss, 1 draw)

AAA

Dr. Wagner Jr. Explains His Jump to AAA
Wagner did an interview with AAA’s website this week and explained that he jumped to AAA because it was a place where he could be more creative without the ?powers that be? constraining him. He was asked about his brother (Silver King) joining La Legion and he said that he was fine with it but would not be joining himself because he loves his Mexican heritage too much. Wagner then said he wanted a shot at Mesias’s AAA Mega Heavyweight Title because he wants to face the true champions in Mexico.

5) El Elegido, La Parka Jr., & Marco Corleone def. Cuervo, Ozz, & Silver King
6) Dr. Wagner Jr. & El Mesias def. Joe Lider & Nicho el Millionario
* NOTES *
– Wow, Konnan, Billy Boy, & Jack Evans came out and mocked Juventud Guerrera doing a parody of what transpired a few weeks ago in the ‘incident.’ Billy Boy played Juvi, Jack Evans dressed up as Lizzy Valentine (blond wig & all), and Konnan played himself. I’m actually shocked that they would do this. This has Konnan written all over it, pretty much proving Juventud’s point about who is really running AAA.
– In the main event they teased tension between Wagner & Mesias but eventually got the pin over the tag champs. Way to bury your tag champs, guys! Looks like they’re using the Vince McMahon “Different ways to bury your tag division” playbook.

INDY & OTHER NEWS

Dragon Gate Joins Forces with Gabe Sapolsky to From Dragon Gate USA
I usually leave all the Japanese news up to Hunter Golden and his Puro column but I have always been a huge fan of Dragon Gate, which is considered a Japanese-Lucha promotion or lucharesu, and they made a huge announcement this week that I felt I should pass along. To those of you that haven’t had a chance to see any of Dragon Gate’s stuff the promotion, based in Japan, is made up primarily of wrestlers trained by the legendary Ultimo Dragon. They wrestle in a very fun and fast paced mixed of lucha libre and puro styles. Well, this week former ROH booker and ECW (original) writer Gabe Sapolsky announced the forming of the new Dragon Gate USA promotion that will bring in the stars of Dragon Gate over to the United States for a tour every other month! Sapolsky will act as the President of the company (and I’m sure a booker) and the debut show will be held at the infamous ECW Arena in Philadelphia on July 25th. To see things like news, rosters, wallpapers, and merchandise go to their website http://www.dgusa.tv/. Is it too much to ask that Dragon Gate USA comes to Alabama? Probably so but that would be incredible.

Sicodelico Jr. Signs with WWE
Former CMLL star, Sicodelico Jr., has signed a developmental deal with WWE and will start with their Florida Championship Wrestling soon. Sicodelico wrestled a dark match in mid-2008 but just has signed the deal. He is the son of the original, legendary Sicodelico as well as nephew of Mil Mascaras and Dos Caras Sr. and Dos Caras Jr.’s (who was rumored to be going to WWE last year as well) cousin. As a part of CMLL Sicodelico Jr. won the 2001 Gran Alternativa Tournament alongside Olimpico and wrestled with CMLL from then until 2003 where he jumped to IWRG. He returned to CMLL briefly in 2006 before leaving again and joining the INDY scene in both American and Mexico including wrestling alot for the NWA. Unlike Dos Caras Jr. this is real, he even posted a picture of him with his signed contract on his myspace page.

9) WWC Tag Titles: Thunder & Lightning (c) def. Idol Stevens & Rico Suave
10) WWC Universal Title: Steve Corino (c) def. The Phenomenal BJ via DQ to retain the title!
* NOTES *
– Opening Juniors match was said to have been excellent.
– Yes, that’s the WWE’s (well, formerly) Kizarny.
– Interesting angle WWC ran with Rey Gonzales and Orlando Colon. For awhile it’s been rumored that La Pesadilla was actually Orlando Colon (it is). Well, he attacked Rey Gonzales (as La Pesadilla) and then immediatley had a match with Glammour Boy Shane. Orlando Colon then had a match with Bronco I immediatley afterward as himself. La Pesadilla came out and caused Orlando to lose and then unmasked revealing it was Rey Gonzales! He then threw the mask at Orlando and said “the mask is yours!”, which was obviously refferencing that Orlando was the true La Pesadilla. Orlando then smiled and spit on a Rey Gonzales poster.
– In the Main Event Mr. Mac was the referee for the match and repeatedly refused to make the pin on Corino until BJ finally knocked him out. Another referee then came out and made the 3 count on Corino giving BJ the title! The crowd went nuts but then Mr. Mac said he was the true official for the match and he was DQing BJ for attacking him. Corino was given his title back and the fans did not like it at all. BJ said he was the true champion and demanded a rematch.
