Strong Man Going to New Japan
This week New Japan announced that CMLL super heavyweight, Strong Man, would be traveling to Japan to take part in New Japan’s tour in March. He’s scheduled to be a part of the New Japan Cup where he will face Hiroshi Tanihashi in the 1st Round.
Texano Jr. & El Terrible Challenge No Limit in Japan
This weekend Texano Jr. & El Terrible traveled to Tokyo, Japan to do battle with the IWGP Tag Team Champions No Limit in New Japan. Last year Terrible & Texano took the hair of both Naito & Yujiro in their Double Hair vs. Hair Tag Match back in December. This was No Limit’s chance at revenge as they put their newly won tag titles on the line. In the end Naito got the clean pin on Texano after No Limit hit their Limitless Emotion.

– This was Mistico’s 4th title defense of the belt. Volador won the first fall clean and then Mistico yanked Volador’s mask and rolled him up to win the 2nd fall. During the 2nd fall Mistico even Powerbombed Volador onto the ring steps. In the third fall Volador hit the Spanish Fly but Mistico wouldn’t stay down. Mistico then went for a rollup but Volador reversed it and held onto the ropes for extra leverage to pin Mistico and win the belt! Volador defeats Mistico for the 2nd straight time becoming the 61st Mexican National Light Heavyweight Champion in the titles history! After the match Mistico went nuts and jumped Volador as he was being presented the belt. He smashed Volador in the face with the belt and then low blowed the official as well. Mistico then grabbed the belt and ran down the ramp while being nailed with beer bottles by the fans. The era of Mistico, the rudo, has official begun!

AAA Referee Robbed
This past weekend AAA official, Hijo del Tirantes, was robbed at knife point after his flight home to Mexico City. His cab driver set him up stopping in the street to allow two men with knives to enter the cab. The men punched Tirantes and robbed him of all of his possessions, but thankfully did not stab him. It’s no joke down there so any of you guys that travel (or live) in Mexico City to watch some of the lucha shows definitely be careful. Tirantes wasn’t able to give the police many details about the robbers as he said it was very dark.
