Delta’s Insane Spot

I was watching some videos this past weekend trying to catch up on some lucha matches when I got to a trios match from the 03/20 edition of CMLL’s LATV (I’m pretty sure it was taped 03/12 from Area Mexico). It features Guerrero Maya Jr., Delta, & Diamante against Dr. X, Hooligan, & Nitro. Overall it was a very fun match but there was one spot that was just out of this world. Delta did a dive over the top onto Hooligan. Delta actually sprang off of the middle rope inside the ring over the top and then landing on the middle rope on the outside springboarding himself up and into a gorgeous hurricanrana on Hooligan on the floor. He hit it in one fluid motion and flawlessly. I actually found it on YouTube so I figured I would share it:

Also, former IWGP Heavyweight Champion Hiroshi Tanahashi will be making his debut in CMLL in May.

New Japan Unveils Super J Tag Tournament Lineup With CMLL Representatives
A few weeks ago New Japan announced that they would be debuting a new tag team tournament highlighting the Jr. Heavyweights in May called the Super J Tag Tournament (the brother of the Super J-Cup pretty much) and it would feature competitors from all across the world, including Mexico. CMLL stars Mascara Dorada and Valiente will be teaming up in the tournament. Also, former TNA Tag Team Champion, Consequences Creed, will be in the tournament (teaming with Kota Ibushi), ROH’s Davey Richards will team with Tiger Mask IV, and El Samurai makes his return to Japan teaming with the legendary Koji Kanemoto. The entire tournament will take place on one night, 05/08/10, from Tokyo, Japan. The full lineup is below.

After the match Mistico claimed that the feud with Volador was over and he was going back to the tecnico side. Volador called Mistico a traidor and said their feud was not over. The rudos didn’t care for Mistico either way.

INDY & OTHER NEWS

Luchadores Invade ROH

This past weekend at ROH’s “The Big Bang” iPPV live from Charlotte, North Carolina several luchadores made their presence felt. First, Cassandro made his ROH debut when he went one-on-one with Rhett Titus. Originally Cassandro was scheduled to face Magno but apparently Solar wasn’t able to make the show so Magno replaced him in the Lucha Tag. Cassandro got the pin on Titus with a victory roll. Word is that Cassandro broke his tibula on the dive (which definitely puts his appearance in CHIKARA in doubt if true). In the Main Event of the show Super Parka teamed up with the original Misterioso to face former NWA World Heavyweight Champion Blue Demon Jr. and Magno! Magno got the pin in the match with a Corkscrew Moonsault on Misterioso.

Another Team Added to King of Trios
This past weekend CHIKARA added yet a 13th team to the King of Trios 2010 lineup. This time it’s Team Osaka Pro representing Osaka Pro Wrestling from Japan. The trio will consist of the former Blood & Guts group from Osaka Pro consisting of Atsushi Kotoge, Daisuke Harada, & Tadasuke. That leaves only one open spot left in the tournament.

7) Blue Demon Jr. def. Vaquero Fantasma
* NOTES *
– Well, I have no clue what happened to this big 8-man Tournament they were supposedly going to do here. Every one of the guys advertised for the tournament were on the card but apparently only Sanders & Mr. Wrestling’s matches were title tournament matches.
– Anyway Mr. Wrestling IV is officially the first Jr. Heavyweight Champion (though he looks about 260 lbs. to me) in PWR’s history. PWR says this will complete their championships (for now at least). They now have a Heavyweight Champion (Oliver John), Tag Team Champions (Border Patrol), Women’s Champion (Lady Apache), Mini Champion (Octagoncito), and Jr. Heavyweight Champion (Mr. Wrestling IV).
