AAA

Former AAA Cruiserweight Sugi San Returning from Knee Injury

After almost a year on the shelf after a severe knee injury, Sugi San, is making his return to the ring (this is his return to my knowledge) on 12/12 at a Pro Wrestling NOAH event in Japan. He’s listed on the card as a “AAA Star” so maybe he will be coming back to AAA soon as well (though not likely).

Dark Family In Japan
AAA’s Dark Family finished off their tour of All Japan in 5th place of the Real World Tag League and picking up a few nice wins on the way including a win over KAI & former IWRG star Tetsuya Bushi in a Non-Tournament Tag Match.

– Electro takes everyone out:

– Gladiador and Lider fight atop the ladder:

– The champs retain:

– Extreme Tiger dives onto Los Bizarros:

– Escoria stretches Evans:

– After the Atomicos (8-Man Tag) Ciber revealed that he was the other person who attacked Octagon several months ago. So they are official rudos.
– Dorian Roldan & Konnan came out and asked Ciber to join La Sociedad again but again Ciber turned him down and said Los Bizarros were against everyone. Ciber then introduced the newest Bizarro to the surprise of everyone: CHARLY MANSON! Manson shocked the crowd by showing up as he has obviously bailed on CMLL (surprising me too). Charly seemed to have found new life in CMLL and now he returns to the company he had problems with in the first place, just odd:

– Los Bizarros:

– L.A. Park wore his brother, Hijo de Cien Caras, mask before and after the match:

– Things got violent between Park & Mesias:

– Mesias dives:

– Mesias answered Park’s violence by ripping Park’s mask almost completely off and revealing the majority of his face:

– In the end Park got Mesias with a Tombstone and after beating him he placed a Hijo de Cien Caras; mask over Mesias’ face as a tribute to his fallen brother:

– El Zorro vs. Wagner for the title:

– Wagner dives onto Zorro:

– It took help from the entire Militia, Konnan, Dorian Roldan, and a fast count from Hijo de Tirantes, but Zorro finally won the Heavyweight Title!:

– A flying clown!:

– I have an illogical fear of clowns and this pic does not help it at all:

– Perro Aguayo Jr. (dressed as one of the clowns) came down during the Main Event and cost Psycho Circus the match, officially ending their undefeated streak:

– Dr. Wagner Jr. then came out and claimed that he and Psycho Circus were robbed and that he was going to bring AAA together to take La Sociedad out.

DRAGON GATE

Strange Days with Bob Saget

This weeks episode of Bob Saget’s new show “Strange Days with Bob Saget” featured Bob taking a look into the world of Lucha Libre and Pro Wrestling. Bob visited a Backyard Wrestling show and then he spent time with an INDY Lucha tag team known as Los Chivos, Kayam & Enigma de Oro. He then followed the brothers to a California-based Lucha show and even Ultimo Dragoncito was featured at the show. Saget introduced the wrestlers in the Main Event (in horrible Spanish). Saget then spoke with legend, “Rowdy” Roddy Piper, as well as young wrestlers Luke Hawke who was looking for a contract with Dragon Gate-USA. Roddy even spoke to the DG-USA roster before their big event in Phoenix this past WrestleMania weekend, giving them some nice words of advice. Saget then also did the introductions for Luke Hawke’s match against, at the time, Open the Dream Gate Champion: YAMATO. Clips of the match were shown and then we see a clip of Luke Hawke being legitimately hurt. Saget seemed to be surprised by Hawke getting hurt. It seems like Hawke may have suffered a concussion. Overall, it was a pretty good little show and Saget (while cracking some jokes) didn’t attempt to make a joke out of Pro Wrestling and put it over nicely. This is also great publicity for Dragon Gate USA.

INDY & OTHER NEWS

Super Crazy Loses 1 Title, Wins Another

This week Super Crazy lost his X-LAW Jr. Heavyweight Title in Chile. He competed in a 2-Fall 3-Way Dance where Crazy’s X-LAW Jr. Heavyweight Title (2nd fall) and XL’s XNL Championship (1st fall) were on the line. Crazy won the first fall with a Spanish Fly on Giger to win the XNL Championship. Then, in the 2nd fall XL surprised Crazy with a Piledriver to pin him. Crazy was scheduled to defend his belt at an X-LAW event in Mexico this month but it’s unknown know how they will handle that. Crazy is the first non-Chilean to win the XNL Title.

Hamada Released from TNA
Former Lucha and Japanese star, Ayako Hamada, was released from her contract with TNA Wrestling this week. She’s a 2-time TNA Knockouts Tag Team Champion (and was currently the champ when she was released) but hadn’t been used much this year. This is sad for TNA because she is one of the most talented female workers in the world, but I’m sure it won’t take her long to find somewhere else to kick some ass. Here’s to hoping TNA wakes up about some of its talent soon.

LL-USA Season 2 Taping This Week
Lucha Libre USA will begin taping for the 2nd season of “Masked Warriors” this weekend (12/12) from Albuquerque, New Mexico at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. The tickets are much more reasonable this season starting at $10.
