New Japan Announces Lineup for “Wrestling Kingdom”
This week New Japan Pro Wrestling released the card for their huge 01/04 Tokyo Dome show which will feature stars from NJPW, Pro Wrestling NOAH, TNA Wrestling, and CMLL. Taichi, who is currently on a tour of Mexico in CMLL, will be returning to Japan to team with Kenny Omega to face Koji Kanemoto & Ryusuke Taguchi. Then, Hector Garza will team up with Jushin Thunder Liger to face the team of La Sombra & Mascara Dorada in a big Lucha Match! That’s it for the CMLL representatives but TNA’s Rob Van Dam will face off against Toru Yano in a one-on-one match and Jeff Hardy will defend the TNA World Heavyweight Title against No Limit’s Tetsuya Naito! Viva la Lucha Premiers “Champions & Challengers” PPV
This past Friday (December 10th) Viva la Lucha premiered their newest PPV, “Champions & Challengers.” Wondering why I never posted about it? Well, that’s because it was never announced before hand, the Viva la Lucha website has had the card for the October PPV ever since that aired and they didn’t even update their Facebook page with info on this PPV until Friday night. Absolutely atrocious promotion for the PPV and really no excuse for it. If you want to catch it, InDemand is running replays of the PPV all month. The poster for the PPV is below but I honestly have no idea what the card even features (other than they are billing it as “a Championship or #1 contendership on the line in every match”.
Lucha Legends Signed for WrestleReunion
It was announced this week that this January’s WrestleReunion show in Los Angeles would feature Lucha Libre legends Dos Caras Sr. (father of WWE superstar: Alberto del Rios) and Mil Mascaras. The two are being advertised as “vendor guests” to the show. Ring of Honor & Pro Wrestling Guerilla will be holding special shows at the event with ROH’s headlined by The World’s Greatest Tag Team (Shelton Benjamin & Charlie Haas) and PWG’s headlined by a Legends Battle Royal. I don’t believe Mascaras or Caras will be wrestling at either show but just there for the WrestleReunion autograph sessions and appearances which will also feature appearences from the original Hart Foundation (Bret Hart & Jim Neidhart), Roddy Piper, Sereena Deeb (former WWE diva and Straight Edge Society member), Terry Funk, Bob Orton, Shane Douglas, Savio Vega, Tito Santana, Sean “Val Venis” Morley, Ken Patera, Barry O, TNA’s SoCal Val, former TNA Knockout: Traci Brooks, Billy Anderson, The Powers of Pain, Mr. Fuji, Mr. Saito, Billy Graham, Torrie Wilson, Nick Mitchell, & Tatanka. Ticket information and VIP information are available at http://www.wrestlereunion.com/.

LL-USA 12/12 “Masked Warriors” Albuquerque, NM Results
1) RelliK & Sydistiko def. El Oriental & Tinieblas Jr.
2) Lumberjack Match: Mini Park def. Rosetta Park
3) LL-USA Heavyweight Title Tournament Finals Fatal 4-Way: Lizmark Jr. def. Marco Corleone, RJ Brewer, & Charly Malice to win the title!
4) Magno & Rocky Romero def. RelliK & Sydistiko
5) Mascarita Dorada & Octagoncito def. Pequeno Halloween & Tigresa Caliente
6) Petey Williams def. Super Nova
7) Blue Demon Jr. def. Tatanka
* NOTES *
– LL-USA held a 10-Bell Salute and moment of silence for Solid before the show.
– They announced that “Masked Warriors” Season 2 would premier in January but didn’t give an official date. Matches 1-3 are for episode 1 and 4-6 are episode 2. The Main Event will not be on TV.
– Supposedly the guy under the Sydistiko mask is former WWE & TNA star, Paul London! I’m not sure how much that benefits LL-USA since they can’t bill him as Paul London, but he’s great in the ring and damn sure crazy as hell like the Sydistiko character.
– Rosetta Park is an unmasked female version of L.A. Park (pic courtesy of Alibi.com):
– Minis and Luchadoras surrounded the ring in that match.
– Marco Corleone won the LL-USA Title in the dead period during the spot shows they held a few months ago but LL-USA decided they would forget that happened and make the Finals a Fatal 4-Way. It was elimination style. Treachery ran out and helped Lizmark and then a man in a blue mask ran out to help. The guy in the blue mask then turned around and hit Malice with a Canadian Destroyer! He removed his mask to reveal it was PETEY WILLIAMS! Eventually Lizmark got the win in the end so he is OFFICIALLY the first LL-USA Heavyweight Champion.
– The Main Event for the 2nd show was Petey vs. Super Nova which is sure to be a great one-on-one match. Petey and RJ Brewer are being billed as a tag team called The Right. They’re also saying that Petey is from Glendale, Arizona (even though he is Canadian). After the match Magno walked out and challenged Brewer to a Mask vs. Hair Match for the next show! I’m glad they’re not forgetting that feud (which was, along with Lizmark vs. Marco, the only real feud they gave any time to).
– Demon vs. Tatanka was just a special attraction that won’t make it on TV.
