CMLL Bringing Brand to America?

One Entertainment, a licensing and brand management agency, has announced that they have picked up CMLL as a client. They plan to brand and license merchandise for CMLL (presumably in both Mexico & America) with Apparel, Toys & Games, Electronics, DVD’s, and more! This is something CMLL needed to do a long time ago.

CMLL In Japan
The CMLL stars will be heading to Japan this weekend for the first CMLL events ever in Japan. The lineups (again) are below.

CMLL 01/14 Arena Mexico Results

5) NWA Welterweight Title: Mephisto (c) def. Hijo del Fantasma
6) Negro Casas, Rey Bucanero, & Felino def. Mistico, Brazo de Plata, & Maximo
* NOTES *
– The Title Match went extremely long and Averno came out to second Mephisto while Mistico was in the corner for Fantasma. The two traded falls in the first two and then went at it for a long third fall. At one point Averno tripped Fantasma from the outside and Mistico went ballistic causing the Commission to send Averno to the back. While everyone was still calming Mistico down, Averno tossed Mephisto a pair of brass knuckles behind the referees back and Mephisto knocked Fantasma out with them.
– Mistico then jumped Averno & Mephisto as they were celebrating together. The rudos then beat the hell out of Mistico which caused him to be carried to the back for medical attention.
– This left Brazo & Maximo out to dry in the Main Event as the rudos beat the hell out of them and took a quick 1st fall. Mistico then ran back out to try and even the odds but took himself out of the match after a dive to the floor. Rey & Negro then took out Maximo & Brazo for the win. Brazo de Plata was pissed with Mistico after the match.

AAA

Dr. Wagner Jr. Jumping Ship?

Box y Lucha reported this week that Dr. Wagner Jr. possibly sent feelers to CMLL about possibly coming back. Kris Zellner (of LuchaWorld.com) predicted this would happen a few weeks ago on Figure Four Daily and also predicted it would actually happen this time around. Wagner has been in AAA since 2009.

AAA 01/15 TV Tapings Results

6) Cibernetico, Charly Manson, & Escoria def. La Parka Jr., Extreme Tiger, & Jack Evans
* NOTES *
– This is the first AAA TV Taping in well over a month.
– All pics courtesy of Black Terry Jr.
– Konnan came out to open the show and bragged about everything that La Sociedad did at Verano de Escandalo and this brought out El Mesias. Konnan says Mesias will get his rematch with L.A. Park eventually but that he would also have to “deal with a surprise from AAA’s past.” I have no clue who that would be.
– Los Bizarros came out and claims to be the god son of La Parka Jr.’s son and he also claimed that the kid was a brat so he had to beat the kid’s ass. No seriously, he even showed off a supposed X-Ray. This brought out La Parka Jr. who attacked Ciber only to get beat down by Bizarros. That is just a dumb angle:

– Aerostar flies:

– Damian666’s son, Bestia 666, made his in-ring debut in AAA as a replacement for X-Fly:

– Afterward Perro Aguyao Jr. ran down and helps PdM beat up the Clowns:

– Charly submitted Parka in the Main Event so after all the revenge stuff with Parka he got owned anyway:

– Ciber then taunted Parka with the x-ray afterward as well.
– Tiger hits an Asai Moonsault on Escoria:

– Following the Main Event Masaaki Mochizuki came out and challenged Yoshino to defend the title against him. Yoshino accepted but then Blood Warriors came out and they suggested that Gamma deserves the next shot. The compromise was Gamma vs. Mochizuki in a #1 Contenders Match, but Gamma didn’t want to actually face him so Brodie Lee will take his place. The match will take place in February and if Brodie Lee wins then Gamma gets a shot at the belt.

INDY & OTHER NEWS

Former NXT Talent Signs with LL-USA

It was announced this week that former NXT rookie (for a VERY brief time), Aloisa, has signed with Lucha Libre USA and will be apart of Season 2. She is scheduled to begin with the promotion at this weekends TV Tapings but she already appeared with Pequeno Halloween at autograph signings and was going by the name Isis there.

Luchador Signs with WWE
Super Luchas Magazine revealed that the WWE had signed El Hijo de Medico Asesino had signed a developmental deal with the WWE, but no one really knows who exactly this is. There have been a few indy wrestlers around Mexico that have wrestled under that name but no one for very long. Medico Asesino is of course the legendary Heavyweight from the 50’s and 60’s and though Hijo’s name means The son of Medico Asesino it most definitely is not the originals son. His son wrestled under the Medico Asesino Jr. name but I don’t think has even wrestled since the 90’s or early 2000’s. There was a Hijo de Medico Asesino that wrestled for IWL last year but I have no idea if this is him and no one else seems to know either.
