Pegasso Undergoes Surgery

CMLL.com reported this week that Pegasso underwent knee surgery on Wednesday to correct a right knee injury. He originally injured it in October, took a few weeks off, and then re-injured it in his first match back. They’re saying he will be out for about 20 days which would lead me to believe it’s a minor meniscus tear. Think Alabama Running Back, Mark Ingram, here. He suffered a slight tear of his meniscus in Fall Camp, had a scope to repair the damage, and returned for the 3rd game of the season against Duke. That time table was just about 20 days so one would think this injury is similar.

Sarita TNA Contract Update
Two weeks ago (http://www.wrestleview.com/viewnews.php?id=1295039264) I talked about the rumors that said that Sarita (Dark Angel in CMLL) had re-signed a new contract with TNA Wrestling. This past weekend she confirmed via her official Facebook page that she had in fact re-signed with TNA signing a new 2 year deal with the company. She’s still expected to wrestle for CMLL as well.

– After what was called “an incredible match” Apollo 55 regained their titles:

– But the celebration was short lived. Taka Michinoku and NOSAWA ran out after the match and challenged the new champions to defend the titles against them down the road.
– After what was said to have been 2 very entertaining events as well as 2 sellouts I would suspect CMLL will definitely be back to Japan in the future.

AAA

Sexy Star Spotted at CMLL Events

It has been reported all over the Mexican/Lucha media that AAA luchadora, Sexy Star, was spotted in the crowd at both Tuesday & Friday’s Arena Mexico shows. No word from either Sexy Star or AAA whether she has left the promotion.

El Zorro Signs with TNA?
Zorro confirmed with SuperLuchas Magazine this past week that he had signed his deal with TNA Wrestling and says that the agreement between AAA and TNA has been signed as well. He claimed that he had already signed the deal and sent out all of his legal papers for the deal. He’s currently just waiting for his start date. Zorro is also currently the AAA World Heavyweight Champion at this time.

5) Monster Clown, Murder Clown, & Psycho Clown def. Amadeus, Charly Manson, & Escoria
6) El Zorro & Chessman def. Dr. Wagner Jr. & El Mesias
* NOTES *
– All pics courtesy of Black Terry Jr.
– Sugi San vs. Ronin was a Dark Match that likely won’t make TV, but the big thing is that this is the first time Sugi has been in AAA since he blew his knee out back in 2009. Hopefully this means Sugi is back in AAA for awhile. He and Ronin will be wrestling in a Tag Match at the next set of tapings.
– I still have no clue who the Ronin character is:

– Sugi hits a Slingshot Rana:

– Sugi hits his signature Ropewalk Springboard Dropkick:

– Billy Boy hits a Brainbuster on Fabi:

– In between the 3rd and 4th bouts La Sociedad came out to the ring. El Zorro revealed that he had new visions of the future. He claimed that a “tyrant” would fall and that we would also see the return of the “iron mask” that Charly Manson once imprisoned Zorro in (remember the Man in the Iron Mask angle?). If you don’t remember, a little history lesson. Back in 2006 at the culmination of El Zorro & Charly Manson’s heated rivalry they fought it out in a Hair vs. Hair Steel Cage Match. In the end Manson go the win and shaved Zorro’s head, and then Manson & The Dark Family took an Iron Mask that they had that they claimed had an ancient Mayan curse. They put it on Zorro’s head and Zorro began wearing it from then on out. His whole personality changed and he became more of a rudo turning on tecnico partners. Manson was supposed to have some type of mind control over him because of the mask but that angle was dropped when Charly left La Secta/Dark Family and joined the tecnico group Hell Brothers. Eventually Zorro turned tecnico again and took off the mask, giving it to the Hell Brothers leader Cibernetico to prove to him that he was trustworthy.
– Konnan was disturbed by Zorro’s prophecy and was worried that the tyrant was him but Zorro claimed that he didn’t know who it was just that it would happen.
– Aerostar does what he does best:

– The match ended in a DQ when La Militia ran out and attacked Octagon. They ripped the legends mask off once again.
– After the Semi-Main El Zorro came out and began arguing with Charly Manson over the Iron Mask situation.
– After the Main Event Charly Manson ran out and attacked the rudos.

4) Heavy Metal vs. Electroshock
5) El Mesias, Espiritu, & Ozz vs. L.A. Park, El Zorro, & Decnnis
6) Nicho el Millionario, La Parka Jr., & Jack Evans vs. Cibernetico, Charly Manson, & Escoria

– This is Heavy Metal’s return match from knee injury.

INDY & OTHER NEWS

L.A. Park Set to Debut for LL-USA

It was announced this week that AAA star and Lucha legend, L.A. Park, will finally debut for Lucha Libre USA at the promotions next shows on 02/19 (in Albuquerque) and 02/20 (in West Valley, Utah). The Albuquerque show is a TV Taping. Park was a part of the original series of promo pictures and trailers for the show before it debuted, but his involvement with AAA conflicted with LL-USA dates. He will be making it up and appearing on Season 2. This is good for both LL-USA and American fans.

8) Mascarita Dorada, Mini Park, & Octagoncito def. Pequeno Halloween, Tigresa Caliente, & Vladamiro
9) Shane Helms def. Lizmark Jr. via DQ
* NOTES *
– Still no start date has been announced for Season 2 to start airing.
– This will likely be 2 or 3 shows.
– John Revell is a huge muscle head, he squashed MediaNoche in the opener. Revell kept beating on him until Super Nova came out to try and make the save only to get taken out himself.
– Oriental & Tinieblas Jr.’s official team name is Dinastia now. Two masked men wearing all black (with S.L. on their backs) came out and attacked Puerto Rican Powers behind the referee’s back allowing Dinastia to get the win.
– Marco & Sydistiko (I think it’s still Paul London) was said to have been going really well when Treachery ran out and caused the DQ. SHANE HELMS then ran out to make the save making his debut for LL-USA. Helms cut a promo afterward talking about helping Corleone even the odds against Treachery.
– Magno & Brewer cap off their feud with a traditional Mask vs. Hair Match. Lizzy Valentine & Petey Williams came tot he ring with Brewer. Said to be a really good match. Brewer used a chain to knock Magno out behind the referee’s back and get the pin. The referee then noticed the chain sticking out of Brewer’s tights and ordered the match re-start. Magno eventually got the win over his rival but Brewer decided to just leave instead of getting his head shaved, but Rocky Romero came out and forced Brewer back in the ring. He & Magno then shaved Brewer’s head.
– Malice (Charly Manson) was said to have gotten a huge pop from the crowd (showing it was definitely a Lucha crowd). RJ Brewer interfered in the match allowing Petey to hit the Canadian Destroyer for the pin.
– Before the Magno-Revell match, The Right (RJ Brewer, Petey Williams, & Lizzy Valentine) came out. Brewer cut a promo to huge heat talking about building fences to keep guys like Magno out. Brewer said The Right had a new member and he was being dubbed “The Firewall” of The Right. The big John Revel then came out and though Magno got more offence than MediaNoche he was still pretty much owned by the big man. After the match Super Nova & Rocky Romero ran out to help Magno fight out off The Right, but in the end got beaten down.
– The Tag Titles were finally decided in the 3-Way Dance. It was said to have been yet another great match. The hooded men in black came out again and again attacked the Puerto Rican Powers. In the end Tinieblas got the win for his team with a new submission hold. Dinastia are officially the first ever Lucha Libre USA Tag Team Champions.
– In the Minis/Tigressa match Tigressa just sat on the apron the whole time talking on her phone. Finally Halloween tagged her in but she wasn’t happy. She then beat down all the Minis and left. Isis (formerly Aloisa of WWE’s NXT) made her debut and attacked Tigressa! They fought up the ramp and to the back while Dorada got the win back in the ring.
– Shane Helms made his in-ring debut with LL-USA against Lizmark and got the win in the end after Lizmark low blowed him. Treachery attacked Helms afterward but Marco ran out to run them off.
