CMLL

New Lucha Times on Galavision In U.S.

According to the Wrestling Observer CMLL will air their Galavision TV show at 5 p.m. and AAA’s at 7 p.m. (all times Eastern) starting Saturday.

Fabian el Gitano Real Cause of Death
It was revealed this week that the REAL cause of death for CMLL star Fabian el Gitano was “pancreatic hemorrhage” rather than the suicide/murder that was reported. R.I.P. again to Fabian.

Fabian el Gitano Funeral
This past weekend Fabian el Gitano’s funeral was held in Mexico City with many Lucha stars attending including Rey Bucanero, Solar I (his trainer), La Amapola, Shocker, Tony Rivera, Sangre Azteca, and many more. There are still alot of conflicting stories going on about his death at this point. Record proved a great picture of Fabian’s casket with his mask on top:

Mil Mascaras Talks CMLL
Last weekend Mil Mascaras claimed that CMLL made him an offer to work for them in a couple of matches but they wanted him to work in the Semi-Main so he rejected it. He claims that if he “didn’t draw the line” with them then they’d soon have him working in the openers. You want to talk about huge egos? This guy is ridiculous. Sadly he can still draw crowds in Mexico but he is absolutely (and let’s be honest as ALWAYS been) awful! He refuses to put guys over or even sell for anyone. If I never see Mascaras work again I wouldn’t care, legend or not.

Taguchi Defending CMLL Title in Japan
New Japan star and current CMLL World Welterweight Champion, Ryusuke Taguchi, will defend the belt in Tokyo, Japan against Japanese INDY wrestler Madoka on April 3th.

New Japan Star Coming to CMLL
This past weekend New Japan Pro Wrestling announced Hirooki Goto would be heading back to Mexico to compete in CMLL for the first time since 2007. No word on how long he will stay but he is starting this weekend.

* NOTES *
– The legends honored this year were Angel Blanco’s family and Salvador Lutteroth (as every year).
– CMLL held a moment of applause for Fabian el Gitano and the tecnicos in the 2nd match brought a Fabian t-shirt to the ring and pointed to the sky.
– Before the Title Match CMLL reintroduced Black Warrior to the fans as he made his return in a relative surprise. After a back-and-forth battle Averno snuck in a foul on Dorada in the 3rd Fall to retain his belt. After the match Black Warrior attacked Averno and ripped off his mask. This is pretty interesting. The man that lost his mask to Mitico (Black Warrior) started a feud with Mistico’s arch rival and real life best friend (Averno).
– Many of the Plata family came out to watch Maximo & Plata get their heads shaved after the lost to Hijos del Averno.

6) Rey de Reyes Finals: Extreme Tiger def. El Mesias, L.A. Park, & Carlito Colon to win the tournament!
* NOTES *
– Pics courteys of AAA.
– Fabi Apache ran out to help the tecnicos get the win. Afterward Jennifer Blade attacked Fabi with a chair.
– After a bloody fight the Bizarros continued to pummel Parka Jr. and Ciber threatened to actually light him on fire until Nicho intervened:

– The Perros del Mal match was said to have been a huge, crazy brawl capped off by Crazy’s Moonsault off a balcony.
– Halloween dives through a Clown and a table:

Perro hit Wagner with a chair and then the Diving Double Foot Stomp off the top for the pin. After the match PdM ripped off the clowns masks.
– Billy el Malo & Jennifer Blade interfered during the match. Zorro took out Billy with a Superkick and then nails Charly with a Facebuster to retian his title:

– Metal & Shock’s match was maid a random as hell 2/3 Falls Bull Terrier Match (Chain Match). 2/3 Falls I’m fine with but the other stipulation was just dumb. They did the damn guitar spot AGAIN leading to Metal winning to take Electro’s hair:

– What kind of message does this send to the wrestlers? Metal gets arrested for a D.U.I. and then a few days later takes Electro’s hair? Afterward Konnan, Chessman, Super Crazy, & Halloween came down and invited Metal to join La Sociedad. Metal refused again and Chessman Superkicked him. La Sociedad brutalized Metal until Electro stopped them for some idiotic reason. He got his ass beat too for his troubles.

– AAA surprises everyone by putting the right guy over in the Tournament Finals. Mesias and Park brawled outside and Mesias dove off a balcony to put Park through a table and get the two counted out. Tiger hit a 450 Splash on Carlito in the ring to get the clean pin and win the Tournament. After the match Joaquin Roldan & Dr. Wagner presented Tiger with the Rey de Reyes Sword/Trophy after the match:

6) Dr. Wagner Jr. & El Mesias def. L.A. Park & Damian666
* NOTES *
– After the opener Konnan led Jennifer Blade & La Milicia out to the ring. He said Billy Boy being a traitor to them reflected on Decniss’ poor leadership so he demoted him and made Super Fly the new leader. Super Fly and Chris Stone were then defeated by Fly’s former Fuerza Aerea partners. Milicia beat down Laredo & Aero after the match.
– Tiger & Evans end Los Maniacos near year long AAA Tag Title reign. Evans & Tiger hit dual big moves (450 Splash from Tiger and 630 Splash from Evans) for double pins. Tiger ended up with a pretty damn good week. He wins Rey de Reyes and then a few days later he and Evans win the Tag Team Titles. Evans is now a Double Champion.
