Charly Manson Released on Bail

After Manson was initially denied bail, he was granted bail this week and was released. He’s already announced for the next TV Taping on 05/13.

Bestia666 Coming to America
Damian666’s son, Bestia666, was announced to be joining the roster of the newly created Urban Wrestling Federation here in America (which I reported on this week). The promotion will be hitting PPV in June with their “First Blood” event. I believe this will be Bestia’s debut in America.

El Zorro Injury Status/TNA Update
Zorro said in an interview with Mi-Lucha Libre that he recently suffered a leg injury that is going to keep him out of the ring for at least 4-6 weeks. He then said that after he heals up he will return and hopefully start with TNA after he’s healed up. This is completely contradictory of what I’ve been told about the situation. From what I was told Zorro was very unlikely to be coming into TNA at this point because his paperwork was mishandled, and NOT mishandled by TNA but rather Zorro.

AAA Introducing New Championship
AAA announced this week that they would finally be introducing a AAA World Trios Championship and that the Tournament to crown the first champions but didn’t announce a date. They did say that the IWRG trio of Cerebro Negro, Dr. Cererbo, & Eterno would be in the tournament though. This is actually a title that AAA might use unlike the Cruiserweight Title which is never seen.

AAA Bringing in TNA Stars for TripleMania
This past week Dorian Roldan announced, via his twitter, that AAA would be bringing in TNA stars again this year for TripleMania, but also said they would be brought in BEFORE TripleMania leading up to it so there might actually be storylines surrounding the TNA stars matches for once. The first names confirmed so far are Jeff Jarrett and Scott Steiner for the 05/18 TV Taping.

Perro Aguayo Jr. Speaks About Surgery For 1st Time
This past weekend AAA star and Perros del Mal leader Perro Aguayo Jr. held a press conference to discuss his recent battle with his health. There have been rumors that all of this stuff about the tumor was made up to cover up him entering rehab. He shot that notion down and even showed his surgical scar to prove it (courtesy of Mi Lucha Libre):
http://i56.tinypic.com/2iiu6e.jpg
Perro made a funny comment about how the hospital did what Mistico & Dr. Wagner couldnt, they took his hair (they cut his hair for something, maybe radiation?). He said he would return soon and that he was already working out.

Super Crazy In Japan
AAA star Super Crazy finished up his tour of All Japan this past weekend. He and Bushi were unable to make it to the finals of the Jr. Tag League but did manage to finish in 4th place with 6 points. Koji Kanemoto & Minoru finished the League Tourney matches with a leading 10 points, but Kaz Hayashi & KAI made it to the Finals as well with 9 points and were able to defeat Kanemoto & Minoru to win the tournament. Shuji Kondo & Hiroshi Yamato ended up in 3rd with 7 points, Masanobu Fuchi & Tsuyoshi Kikuchi ended in 5th with 4 points, Hikaru Sato & Kikutaro of Dragon Gate ended in 6th with 4 points, and finally MAZADA & Super Hate finished last with only 2 points.

At PWG’s big even to open 2011, “Kurt RussellReunion II,” PWG presented a special “Lucha Libre Showcase” which featured 2 CMLL stars: Rey Bucanero & Mr. Aguila. It’s 1 fall rather than the typical 3 fall matches. Colt Cabana is on commentary alongside Excalibur. Excalibur points out Bucanero and Aguila’s recent (at this time) Hair vs. Hair Match in Mexico in which Bucanero won. They circle each other and then lockup. Aguila hits an Arm Drag on Bucanero and then they lockup again. Aguila hits another arm drag but Bucanero answers with one of his own. Bucanero then sweeps Aguila’s legs as he got to his feet and covers him for a one count. Aguila then sweeps the legs of Bucanero. The two get to their feet and Bucanero attempts a clothesline but Aguila ducks and hits a Spinning Back Kick that sends Bucanero out to the floor. You know what that means! Aguila sets up for a the first dive of the match but the referee stops him and checks on Bucanero. Aguila then dives over the referee with a gorgeous Somersault Plancha onto Bucanero on the floor! Aguila plays to the crowd who shower him with a “Lucha Libre” chant. Aguila tosses Bucanero back into the ring and puts the boots to Bucanero. Aguila whips Bucanero into the ropes and connects with a clothesline for a nearfall. Aguila kicks Bucanero into the corner and then attempts to whip him into the opposite corner, but Bucanero reverses it. Bucanero charges at Aguila and Aguila gets his feet up. Bucanero catches Aguila’s feet and swings them into the ropes hanging Aguila up in them. Bucanero then hits a Hanging Backstabber on Aguila and then dropkicks Aguila out to the floor. Bucanero then hits a Rolling Slingshot Somersault Plancha onto Aguila on the floor. Bucanero hits Aguila with a few Roundhouse Kicks on the floor and then tosses him intot he guardrail. Bucanero then clotheslines Aguila over the guardrail into the 1st row! Bucanero slaps hands with the fans and plays to their “Bucanero” chants. As Aguila starts to climb back over the guardrail Bucanero lights him up with stiff chops. Bucanero rolls Aguila back into the ring and puts the boots to him. Aguila hits another Round Kick and then he whips Aguila into corner. Bucanero attempts a Rolling Splash in the corner but Aguila moves out of the way and then he grabs Bucanero and flings him under the ropes down to the floor. Aguila then hits the dive he’s most known for, his Somersault Plancha over the corner turnbuckle onto Bucanero on the floor! That is still one of my favorite dives in all of Lucha Libre. Aguila gets a TON of air on this one and actually lands in the front row after he landed on top of Bucanero. Aguila whips Bucanero into the front row and into the fans laps! Aguila follows him into the crowd and the two start brawling in the fans! Aguila climbs back over the guardrail and hits a Running Somersault Plancha OVER the guardrail onto Bucanero in the 4th row! Aguila rolls back into the ring and eats up the cheers. As he celebrates Bucanero rolls back in and locks in a Chinlock on Aguila. Both men get to their feet and then they both miss clotheslines and then both connect with Cross Body Blocks! Both men are down as the referee starts the 10 count. Bucanero rolls over on top of Aguila, 1…2…NO Aguila kicks out! DOS! Bucanero grabs Aguila and locks in the Mexican Crab and then transitions into a Half Crab! Bucanero then transitions into an STF and then further into a kind of Regal Stretch move. He then rolls Aguila over and gets a two count, but Aguila kicks out and immediately grabs Bucanero’s arm and rolls Bucanero up with a La Magistral Cradle! 1…2…NO Bucanero kicks out! Bucanero gets to his feet and goes for a clothesline but Aguila blocks it and grabs Bucanero’s wrist in a Wristlock. He then starts kicking away at Bucanero’s ribs with Roundhouse Kicks. Aguila then leaps to the top rope (still holding onto the Wristlock) and almost botches it but steadies himself and then goes for the Springboard Corkscrew Armdrag. Bucanero blocks it and Aguila hits a Scoop Slam. Aguila then climbs up top and hits a gorgeous Moonsault! 1…2…3!

Winner: Mr. Aguila via pinfall (Moonsault)

(Not the best match these two have had against each other but they turned a short match (for them) into a fun, exciting fast paced match. They even threw in a little brawling. We had tons of dives and nearfalls. There was a couple of shaky spots but for the most part pretty clean and the fans were into the whole match. ***1/2)
