CMLL

CMLL News

On 11/17 CMLL held a Press Conference with a ton of news coming out of it. Blue Panther challenged Negro Casas to Hair vs. Hair but before he could answer Felino interrupted them. Felino said he wanted the match with Panther so Panther suggested a Triangle Match. Negro backed out so on 12/16 it will be Panther vs. Felino in Hair vs. Hair. Panther/Negro will likely happen later on. Atlantis, Delta, & Guerrero Maya Jr. were talking about the name for their team but Shocker interrupted them and said that he had formed his own group with young guys. He introduced two new stars Titan & Triton (don’t know if it’s the IWRG wrestler or not) along with Metro as his new group. Also, CMLL revealed that Valiente, Atlantis, & Mascara Dorada would be representing CMLL on the 01/04 “Wrestle Kingdom” Tokyo Dome show in Japan for New Japan. Also, the roster of CMLL stars for the Japanese tour in January will be La Sombra, Maximo, Volador Jr., Mephisto, Shigeo Okumura, Diamante, Mascara Dorada, Shigeo Okumura, Rush, & Misterioso II. In attendance news the 11/11 Arena Mexico event drew only 2,500 fans which is less than they draw at Arena Puebla every week continuing the very poor attendance levels for CMLL as of late. Even worse the 11/13 “Fan Appreciation” show drew only 2,000 and then the 11/15 show drew just 1,600!

Hector Garza Jumps Ship
This week Hector Garza wrapped up his lengthy run in CMLL, and will now jump ship to Perros del Mal/AAA. Garza actually founded Perros del Mal several years ago with Perro Aguayo Jr. back in CMLL when it was one of the hottest things going in Lucha Libre. Garza is currently the CMLL Heavyweight Champion and CMLL is expected to simply strip him of the belt. Garza made appearances on CMLL, PdM, and AAA events within 3 days of each other this week. Garza said that he was unhappy with his tecnico turn and his heart hadn’t been in it as of late. One interesting thing about Garza and AAA is that Garza was employed by TNA several years ago and with AAA’s alliance with TNA it is possible he could have some dealings with TNA again. It’s no secret that back in 2005 TNA was very high on Garza when he was arrested on the border for attempting to carry a steroid over the border and banned from entering the United States for 5 years. That ban is obviously gone now and Garza could wrestle in TNA again if they decided to bring him in at anytime.

AAA 11/14 TV Taping Results
1) Jennifer Blake & Sexy Star def. Fabi Apache & Lolita

5) Halloween, Octagon, & X-Fly def. Dr. Wagner Jr., Aerostar, & Fenix
6) El Mesias & Jack Evans def. Perro Aguayo Jr. & Chessman
* NOTES *
– In the 2nd match Mascarita Dorada shocked everyone by returning to AAA and attacking Mini Psycho Circus after the match. Dorada hasn’t been in AAA since 2007 and I would assume that this means either a) WWE didn’t offer him a contract or b) he didn’t like the offer they made. Then again he could bail on AAA and go to WWE at any point if WWE does offer him a deal.
– In the first singles match between the two since their breakup, Nicho pinned his former partner in what was said to be a very bloody hardcore match.
– In the Main Event two surprising things happened. First, Jack Evans pinned Perro CLEAN after a 630-Splash. 2nd (and not really as surprising) Hector Garza came out after the match and officially joined Los Perros del Mal and helped Perro beat down Evans.

INDY & OTHER NEWS

JoshiMania Stars Injured

2 stars that were scheduled to compete on CHIKARA’s special “JoshiMania” events in December have had to pull out of the shows due to injury. Meiko Satomura and JPW President, Command Bolshoi, have had to pull out of the events after suffering injuries last week. A replacement for Satomura has not been announced yet but JPW has selected Kaori Yoneyama to replace Bolshoi in the events. Yoneyama is scheduled to retire from wrestling at the end of the year and this will be her final wrestling appearances in the United States. Satomura will still conduct the Wrestling Seminar she was scheduled to due on 12/02.

– In the Freedom Gate Title Match Taylor actually had YAMATO pinned after his finisher but YAMATO got his foot on the rope. Johnny Gargano (who was in his buddy, Taylor’s, corner) pointed it out to the referee. The referee had the match continue and YAMATO retained which ensured that Gargano would get his shot at the belt the next night. They’re playing this up as a riff in Ronin.

After the match Icarus continued to beat him down until Gran Akuma made his return to CHIKARA and made the save!
– Cibernetico came down to del Rey and Donst with del Ray getting the win for her team.

7) CHIKARA Grand Champion: Eddie Kingston def. Mike Quackenbush to win the title!
* NOTES *
– Marty Jannetty stood in The Young Bucks corner for the opener.
– After del Ray’s match the Osirian Portal (Amasis & Ophidian) came down to the ring. Amasis officially announced his retirement and said that just one bad bump could end him up in a wheelchair (he was in a car wreck earlier this year). Osirian Portal danced together in the ring one last time but then, suddenly, Ophidian lifted his mask up (to reveal his mouth) and spit mist into Amasis’ face! Ophidian then dropkicked Amasis into his injured back! Security pulled Ophidian out of the ring but he then ran back in and yanked Amasis’s mask off! Ophidian yelled, “Amasis, problem solved” and then left his former partner laying as referee’s covered Amasis’s face.
– The stipulations to the No DQ Tag Match were that if either Black or Hallow were pinned then that person would have to unmask while if Donst was pinned his head would be shaved and if Ares was pinned he would have to return the Eye of Tear to UltraMantis Black (that Ares stole months and months ago). Late the match Donst pretty much left his partner out to dry leading to the win and Black getting back his Eye of Tear.
– In the Main Event ECW legend Tommy Dreamer stood in Kingston’s corner while Jigsaw stood in Quackenbush’s. After a hard hitting match Kingston hit two Backfist to the Future’s on Quack and became the very first CHIKARA Grand Champion! Larry Sweeney’s brother and sister presented Kingston with the belt (the 12-Large Summit was dedicated to Sweeney). Kingston then oddly trashed both the WWE and TNA and called out specifically CM Punk, Cena, HHH, & AJ Styles.

7) Extreme Warfare: Sami Callihan, Arik Cannon, & Pinkie Sanchez def. Sabu, AR Fox, & Jon Davis
* NOTES *
– Ricochet ended his feud finally with a clean win over Ricochet in what was said to be an amazing match.
– Despite Gargano costing Taylor the title the night before, Taylor still comes down and tries to help Gargano. Taylor grabs the title belt and swings it at YAMATO but he ducks and Taylor nails Gargano! YAMATO takes out Taylor but in the end Gargano was able to come back with the Gargano Escape to force YAMATO to tap.
– After the match Taylor and Gargano talk in front of everyone and settle their differences, Gargano says after Taylor & Swann beat Hulk & Tozawa earlier in the show he knows they’ll take the Tag belts from CIMA & Ricochet. Rich Swann comes in and the group hugs and Gargano says it doesn’t matter which one of them holds that belt because it means Ronin holds it.
– Extreme Match was said to have been very brutal.
