CMLL In Japan

This weekend New Japan announced the lineup for their huge annual “Wrestle Kingdom” Tokyo Dome Show on 12/18. Several CMLL stars will compete on the card. Mascara Dorada will team up with Jushin Thunder Liger, Tiger Mask IV, & KUSHIDA to face off against fellow CMLL stars Atlantis, Valiente, & Taichi as they team with former WWE star Taka Michinoku. Also, longtime CMLL wrestler Yoshihashi will make his long awaited return to New Japan as he faces off against former TNA star Okada.

Marco Corleone Returns to CMLL
A few weeks former CMLL, AAA, WWE, WCW, and Lucha Libre USA co-founder Marco Corleone said on his twitter that he was coming back to CMLL, but nothing ever materialized from it (which is why I never commented on it) but now CMLL has released their lineup for this year’s “Sin Piedad” event on 12/16 and Marco is listed in the Main Event. This is a pretty good indicator of the potential that LL-USA ever makes a return (not very high potential).

Blue Panther Suspended
Off the heels of Panther Piledriving Negro Casas last week the Lucha Commission announced that they were suspending him for two weeks, but they would wait until after the “Sin Piedad” event since he already signed a contract for the Hair Match. Talk about a big punishment, he gets to hang out with his family over the holiday’s and not work.

5) La Sombra, La Mascara, & Rush def. Averno, Mephisto, & Mr. Niebla
6) Felino & Negro Casas def. Blue Panther & Rey Bucanero via DQ
– The DQ in the Main Event was due to Panther giving Negro Casas a Piledriver.

– The Lucha Commission threatened to pull Panther from the Main Event due to the Piledriver he hit Negro Casas with last week. They let him wrestle in this one but are going to have a meeting on Tuesday to discuss if he will be suspended or not. When will CMLL just decide to ignore these guys like AAA does?

5) Marco Corleone, Maximo, & Rush def. Negro Casas, Rey Bucanero, & Mr. Niebla
6) Hair vs. Hair: Blue Panther def. Felino via DQ
– LOTS of confusion in the Main Event. Panther was going to Piledrive Felino in the match but was warned that he would DQ’d if he tried again. Later Felino attempted one on Panther and Negro Casas ran out to get him to stop (so he won’t get DQ’d) but the referee DQ’d him anyway. The referee was a former luchador Bestia Negra who lost 3 hair matches to Felino years ago. They are attempting to play this off like Felino was screwed in the match but MANY fans were confused and upset over the finish. Some thought that Casas was attempting to help Felino Piledrive Panther while others thought he was trying to help out Panther so it didn’t come off the way they hoped.

– Tiger & Lider put the Perros threw the flaming tables to get the win.
– Murder Clown pinned Pope in their match.
– AJ and Mesias were said to have had a good match, Mesias got the clean win.
– Konnan and Dorian came out and said if Mesias wanted to get a shot at the big belt he had to also beat Rob Terry, which Mesias did in much shorter fashion.
– After that match the TNA guys ran down and jumped Mesias but the returning (from Japan) Ozz & Cuervo ran in for the save followed by Vampiro making his return to TNA. Vampiro claimed he was starting a new tecnico stable.
– Trios Semi-Main was said to be very good as well. Garza got the pin on Fenix.
– Before the Main Event Toscano came out to ringside wearing a CMLL shirt and was presented as a “CMLL star.” Park and Wagner had multiple pinning opportunities during the match but the referee was out. Finally Park got the win on Wagner via brass knuckles. Texano Jr. & Mascara Ano 2000 Jr. came in to join Toscano after the match as an “invading” faction (supposedly from CMLL). If you think this seems extremely close to the Los Invasers group in CMLL from earlier this year, don’t worry you’re not alone.
