Tony Khan calls WWE the ‘Harvey Weinstein’ of pro wrestling

AEW President Tony Khan was a guest on NFL Network, talking to the panel in the midst of the NFL Draft.

Khan addressed his being in a neckbrace, the result of the Young Bucks and Kazuchika Okada attacking him at the end of the 4/24 edition of AEW Dynamite, and talked about AEW’s success over the past five years calling it one of the “most successful sports startups since the AFL pre-merger.”

He went on to talk about the challenge they face going up against WWE, a “really evil juggernaut,” adding:

“WWE is our competitor. That’s what we’re facing. AEW is like the Pepsi of pro wrestling. WWE is like the Harvey Weinstein of pro wrestling. And I’m really proud of what we do.”

The commentators were quick to pivot away from the topic, asking what his prognosis was before going back to the topic of the Draft itself.

The NFL has the full conversation available on their website as of this writing.
