Ultimo Guerrero Changes His Mind

Only a couple of weeks after saying that the Los Guerreros del Atlantida were breaking up officially, Ultimo Guerrero has changed his mind. He says the idea of breaking up came from ‘exterior forces’ but he is working on changing that. He says he wants to continue teaming with Atlantis and when Rey Bucanero returns he thinks they can really get things back moving. He also said he had no intentions of becoming a tecnico.

AAA

Big AAA vs. WWE Match in Puerto Rico

This past week a big match over in Puero Rico’s WWC was announced for 2010’s first WWC card in January “Euphoria”. It will be AAA star El Mesias (Ricky Banderas) going one-on-one with the WWE’s Carlito Colon! The event will take place on January 16th, 2010.

4) Crazy Boy & Jack Evans def. Alex Koslov & Cibernetico
5) AAA Lucha Libre Premier Finals: Dr. Wagner Jr. def. Jack Evans & Marco Corleone to win the first annual tournament.
* NOTES *
– This was the final show for the extremely complicated Lucha Libre Premier Tournament (which I stopped attempting to keep the points of a long time ago). Apparently you had to reach 17 points to win the tournament (which they never explained until this show, shocking). Wagner, Evans, & Marco all went over 17 on this show so they faced off in a deciding Three-Way in the Main Event. Jack & Wagner teamed up to eliminate Marco and then Wagner pretty much squashed Evans to win the tourney. Was this a complete waste of time? Yep.

After this past weekends final DGUSA show of 2009 Dragon Gate announced via their website (dgusa.tv) the scheduled talent roster (so far) for the 01/23 show in Chicago, Illinois. The following stars are set to compete in Chicago: BxB Hulk (Open the Freedom Gate Champion), Dragon Kid (gets a shot at the Freedom Gate Title), CIMA, Naruki Doi (Open the Dream Gate Champ), Naruki Doi, Jimmy Jacobs, Jigsaw, Brian Kendrick, Masaaki Mochizuki, Jon Moxley, Mike Quackenbush, Davey Richards, Shingo Takagi, Super Crazy, The Young Bucks, YAMATO, Masato Yoshino, and more to be announced.

* NOTES *
– Jigsaw and Eddie Kingston were stuck in traffic before the show due to a big crash on the highway. This forced DGUSA to switch up the card a little. Originally Kingston was scheduled to face Hallowicked in the Main Event of the Pre-Show and Jigsaw was going to be apart of the Tourney in the 6-Way. Hallowicked replaced Jigsaw in the tournament and later on in the show Kingston faced off with Jigsaw.
– CIMA pinned his once trainer, Skayde, in their matchup to move on.
– YAMATO & Richards was said to have been an incredible match as was the Tag Match. Yougn Bucks came out and challenged Doi & Yoshino after the tag match.
– The Main Event was said to be yet another strong one for DGUSA. CIMA was eliminated fairly early when Akuma low blowed him and then YAMATO got the pin. Hulk then went on a tear and eliminated both Akuma and YAMATO (last) to win the match and become the first ever DGUSA Open the Freedom Gate Champion! After the match Davey Richards came out and helped YAMATO put the beat down on Hulk until Dragon Kid came out to make the save. DK will get a shot at the belt in January.
