For several weeks sites have claimed that Dragon Gate USA star PAC had signed a contract with the WWE and this week Dragon Gate USA themselves confirmed the that he has, in fact, signed a deal with the biggest wrestling promotion in the world. October DG-USA Events, Champs Headed to Japan
This week Dragon Gate USA revealed the roster for their October events. So far Open the Freedom Gate Champion Johnny Gargano, Open the United Gate Champions: CIMA & AR Fox, Akira Tozawa, Ryo Saito, Genki Horiguchi, Ricochet, Jon Davis, El Generico, Rich Swann, AAA star Samuray del Sol, Jigsaw, Frightmare, D.U.F. (Sami Callihan, Arik Cannon, & Pinkie Sanchez), Super Smash Bros. (Player Uno & Player Dos), The Scene (Scott Reed & Caleb Konley), and more to be announced. Also, Chuck Taylor’s new group The Gentleman’s Club consisting of Taylor, Orange Cassidy, & Drew Gulak will be competing. Also, Dragon Gate announced that Open the Freedom Gate Champ Johnny Gargano and the other half of the Open the United Gate Champions AR Fox will be heading to Japan this week for a month long tour of Japan with Dragon Gate that will come to a close when they return to America for the DG-USA events! Tales Of Masked Men Documentary
This past weekend PBS aired the special Lucha Libre Documentary “Tales of Masked Men” and it was one of the better wrestling (not just Lucha) documentaries I’ve seen. They did a wonderful job in detailing the history of Lucha Libre and how things got started as well as explaining the traditions and the legacy of the mask and its importance in Lucha. The documentary also brilliantly detailed the life of the legendary El Santo and had segments focusing on current luchadors like Mascarita Sagrada and an amazing look into the life of the legendary Solar I. Tales of Masked Men continues to air on PBS all month long (check local listings) and is for sale on DVD already:
