Controversy Over Charity Event
CMLL’s 12/07 Arena Mexico event was supposed to be a charity event for the John Langdon Down Foundation for Down Syndrome. The charity foundation pulled out of the event and issued a press release saying they were pulling out due to lack of reliability from CMLL and because CMLL refused to give them a straight answer as to what percentage of ticket sales would be donated. CMLL removed any mention of the charity event at the show and then actually refused to honor VIP sales they made which were supposed to be for a meet & greet with CMLL stars. During the show La Sombra faced Ultimo Guerrero in a 1-fall match that was supposed to be for a Trophy from the Charity, but they made no mention of the charity yet Sombra (who won the match) was still presented with the trophy after teh match.
