La Parkita & Espectrito II Murdered
On Monday morning Mexico City police officers found Lucha Mini stars, La Parkita and Espectrito II (both of them were the originals), dead in their hotel rooms. Parkita (real Name Alberto Perez Jimenez) and Espectrito II (real name Alejandro Perez Jimenez) were brothers (also both were brothers of Espectrito I) and were only 35 years old. The police have released that Parkita & Espectriro checked into their hotels after a show on Sunday night and were approached by two prostitutes. The two women spiked the lucha stars drinks with eye drops (which is apparently common) and after they passed out stole all of their possessions. The two overdosed on the drugs the prostitutes spiked their drinks with. Police say that this M.O. matches that of a prostitute ring called “The Filtracion” (The Leak) who proposition men and then spike their drinks and then rob the men, but the spiked drinks usually don’t kill (probably because of their size, it killed them). The police have retrieved finger prints from the scene and are confident they will find the two responsible which I truly hope they do. La Parkita and Espectrito II were both 2 of the pioneers of the Lucha Mini resurgence in the 90’s as stars in both AAA and CMLL. Espectrito II has wrestled under many names and masks in his career including Mini Mankind, Tarantula (while in the WWE shortly), and most recently as Guerrerito del Futuro. He lost his Espectrito mask to Octagoncito in 1997. La Parkita is considered by many to be one of of the best in-ring Minis in all of Lucha Libre and has been so for many years. Parkita has wrestled all over the world including Japan and the United States (most recently in CHIKARA Pro). Both had been wrestling on the INDY scene (mostly in Mexico City) recently wrestling for such groups as Los Bizarros, IWRG, Perros del Mal, and more. They will be missed. There has been a rumor that the women have been arrested, but they have NOT.

Volador Jr. & La Sombra Successfully Defend Tag Belts Again
On the 06/29 Arena Puebla Show CMLL World Tag Team Champions, Volador Jr. & La Sombra, successfully defended the belts for the 4th time (and 2nd time in a month) when they defeated La Pesta Negra representatives: Felino & Negro Casas. Full results of the show have yet to be released (and may not be at all).

Villano V Challenges Blue Panther to Another Big Match
After last year’s big (and Match of the Year) Mask vs. Mask showdown between Villano V and Blue Panther at CMLL’s Anniversary Show, Villano V (or Ray Mendoza Jr. whichever one he wants to be called this week) has proposed yet another big match with Blue Panther for this years Anniversary Show! Panther has issued a challenge to Blue Panther for a Retirement Match! Villano said that he would be open to a Hair vs. Hair (more likely) showdown but wants he and Panther to settle their rivalry in the biggest way possible. After taking Panther’s mask at last year’s Anniversary Show, Villano V himself lost his mask to the Heavyweight Champion: Ultimo Guerrero in March. I think the prospects of either a Hair or Retirement Match for the Anniversary show are awesome and would most likely be another classic from these two. If I could choose which match I would go with the Hair Match because I don’t want either to retire, but the Retirement Match would be the bigger match.

* NOTES *
– In the Semi-Main Blue Panther was stretchered out and the reason they’re giving is that he was dizzy and having trouble breathing due to a Back Suplex (similar to Misawa?). I’m not sure if this is forreal, maybe they were being extra-protective of him due to what happened to Misawa.

Dr. Wagner Jr. Speaks Out About AAA and Perros del Mal
This week Dr. Wagner Jr. spoke out about several different things in an interview. He said that Cibernetico & El Mesias were unprofessionals trying to take out a star (him), but would fail. He also said that AAA made them while he made himself. He talked about teaming with his brother once again, saying that he didn’t agree with some of the things Silver King has done as of late (joining the Legion for one) but he was still his brother and wouldn’t have anyone else by his side against Mesias & Ciber. He then spoke about the horrendous Perros del Mal show last weekend and he said that Perro Aguayo Jr. knew weeks in advance that he wouldn’t be making the show due to the AAA Taping yet still advertised him so it’s all on them. He also said that his deal with AAA states he can continue to work the INDY scene (completely the opposite of what Joaquin Roldan said).
