Hey guys, big week of announcements this week which includes the official lineup for TripleMania! Leading up to the show I?ll do predictions (probably next week) for it. Also, I?m taking this week off from doing the Cruiserweight Tourney match reviews because I just couldn?t find the time this week, but I?ll get right back into next week with the final two quarterfinals matches.

AAA Holds TripleMania Press Conference
On Tuesday AAA held their Press Conference to make all the official announcements for TripleMania. AAA announced that they would NOT show TripleMania a few weeks later on TV like they usually do but will seen only on PPV live that night or if you buy the special DVD that they will be releasing after. The opener for the show, however, will not be shown on the live PPV. Wagner and AAA stalked about his contract status once again and both said that they were CLOSE to signing a deal with him but haven’t signed it yet. The deal would say that he could still run his Wagnermania shows and use AAA wrestlers for it. They also announced that in the Zorro/X-Pac matches there will be a Caning stipulation. The captain of the losing team (Zorro & Pac are the captains) will be caned 10 times which is a cool stipulation because if you remember when X-Pac returned and turned on the Legion he attacked Zorro with a cane and later Zorro caned the hell out of Pac as well.

Lucha Commission Lays Down The Law to AAA
Lucha y Box Commissioner, El Fantasma, claimed this week that he was banning Konnan from even being in the building for the big TripleMania show this month due to the assault on Juventud Guerrera and also said that Jack Evans would be allowed to wrestle if he met the terms that the commision has set for him (and of course he didn’t disclose those terms). Fantasma also says that Silver King will not be allowed to wrestle any further under his mask. However, AAA President: Joaquin Roldan said that Fantasma nor the Commission had any say over AAA or any of their competitors and pretty much said that Fantasma needs to keep his mouth shut. Wow, the drama continues. I don’t really get how Fantasma and the commision can punish CMLL and their competitors (which they have) yet have no standing over AAA unless CMLL just follows the old ways when they don’t actually have to. If I had to guess I would say that Silver King shows up to TripleMania and wrestles under his mask, Jack Evans wrestles, and Konnan stands at ringside for the Main Event no matter what Fantasma says.

Silver King Issues Challenge to Santo
At this weeks TripleMania Presser Silver King came up to the podium and issued a challenge to El Hijo del Santo for a rematch of their infamous Mask Match 22 years ago and said that the outcome would be very different since he is no longer a “16 year old punk kid” and now has worldwide international experience and is a 13-time Champion. Silver King also said that he didn’t need to mooch of his fathers legacy like Santo and his brother, Dr. Wagner Jr., which is a bit surprising. He then expressed his content for people wanting him to not wrestle under his mask and says that he will do whatever he wants. Wagner responded to those comments by simply saying that Silver King was jealous of his success.

Sangre Azteca Speaks on Universal Tournament & Ultimo Guerrero
Last week Sangre Azteca expressed how much he was excited for the new Universal Champions Tournament and hoped that he would face Guerrero in it to prove himself and to prove that Los Guerreros dropped the ball with him when he was in their group.

Rey Bucanero Suffers Major Knee Injury
Last week in his Light Heavyweight Title defense Rey Bucanero lost his belt due to a left knee injury that forced him to forfeit the third and final fall, and it seems that injury is very real. Bucanero underwent surgery to repair the knee and will be out at least 6 months. He said that he hopes to be back by Christmas and has vowed to take Ephesto’s mask when he returns. This is a major blow to CMLL in a time that they really don’t need to be losing people anymore. Hopefully Rey will make a full recovery which I’m sure he will.

Mistico Voices His Anger with CMLL
Tuesday CMLL superstar, Mistico, voiced his opinions on the way CMLL is using him these days and they weren’t nice things he said. Mistico feels that CMLL aren’t utilizing him enough on major shows and claims CMLL is not treating him like their biggest star. He claims that some people have ‘kissed ass’ in the offices to get in Main Events but he refuses to do so. He says that if he doesn’t start getting treated right that he would leave and go to Japan or the United States and WWE. I’m really shocked by these comments as Mistico pretty much Main Events every Arena Mexico show and it’s a damn near guarantee that he’ll Main Event at the Anniversary Show this year (which he would’ve done last year had he not been injured). This really came out of left field and in my opinion Mistico is completely unfounded in these remarks. I love Mistico and he is one of my favorite wrestlers in the world but he’s really in the wrong here, and if he does go to WWE he’ll realize what a mistake he made. WWE is not about to push another smaller statured guy when Rey Mysterio Jr. is still in the WWE and already has worldwide fame. Mistico also mentioned that he would never go to TNA because they’re ‘too small time’ for him, wow.
