WWE acknowledges Bobby Fish injury, Address NXT TakeOver: New Orleans match

Bobby Fish

WWE.com has an article up about Bobby Fish, one half of the current NXT Tag Team Champions, suffering an injury at an NXT live event.

The article notes the injury took place at an “NXT Live Event over the weekend”, but actually took place nearly four weeks ago at at NXT event in Indianapolis.

It would appear the company opted to hold on making an official announcement about Fish’s injury pertaining to the upcoming NXT TakeOver: New Orleans special next Saturday due to the ongoing Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic tournament on NXT TV.

The company posted footage of Fish being looked at by a WWE doctor.

We reported a few days after the injury took place that Fish underwent successful surgery to repair a torn ACL, leaving him unavailable to wrestle at NXT TakeOver.

The belief at the time was that Adam Cole would step in to take Fish’s place for the scheduled NXT Tag Team Championship match where The Undisputed Era would defend the titles against the winners of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic.

Cole is now booked to take part in a six man ladder match to crown the first ever NXT North American Champion. WWE did not mention anything about Cole stepping in for Fish in the injury and simply said more would be revealed later this week.
