Moments ago, WWE just announced the release of Big Cass (William Morrissey).
The official and very brief statement reads:
“WWE has come to terms on the release of William Morrissey (Big Cass).”
It’s interesting to note WWE opted to leave out wishing Cass the best in his “future endeavors” as they normally do when announcing talent releases.
This announcement comes just two days after Cass lost to Daniel Bryan in a singles match during the WWE Money in the Bank PPV on Sunday night in Chicago.
Following a stint in NXT, Cass debuted on the main roster in April of 2016 along with Enzo Amore. He would then shift to singles competition in July of 2017, breaking away from the tag team division and no longer tagging with Amore. Cass suffered an injury in August later that year during a match with Amore and returned to action this past April.
