Legendary singer and songwriter Aretha Franklin, often touted as the Queen of Soul, passed away on Thursday morning. Franklin was 76 years old.

Franklin is most known by wrestling fans for singing “America the Beautiful” before WrestleMania 3 at the Pontiac Silverdome. She returned to WWE to sing the opening song before WrestleMania 23 in Detroit at Ford Field.

On behalf of the entire Wrestleview.com staff, we would like to send out our condolences to the family and friends of Franklin during this very hard time.
