Former WrestleMania personality passes away, WWE Now going live this week for SummerSlam

Legendary singer and songwriter Aretha Franklin, often touted as the Queen of Soul, passed away on Thursday morning. Franklin was 76 years old.

Franklin is most known by wrestling fans for singing “America the Beautiful” before WrestleMania 3 at the Pontiac Silverdome. She returned to WWE to sing the opening song before WrestleMania 23 in Detroit at Ford Field.

WWE Now going live this week for SummerSlam

WWE.com is reporting that the WWE Now series, hosted by Cathy Kelley, will be airing live all this week in New York City for SummerSlam weekend.
