Former WWE Star Dave Bautista recently conducted an interview with Flickeringmyth.com. In the interview, the former WWE Champion notes that he is a huge Star Wars fan, and actually auditioned to be in a couple of the new movies, but was turned down each time.

The full interview will be released next week, but there is a few interesting snippets that have been released, including Bautista’s views on the latest Star Wars movies, and his desire to star in a “Gears of War” movie.

Bautista is quoted as saying:

“I’ve actually auditioned for a couple of Star Wars [movies] and they’ve turned me down. It was always a dream of mine to be in a Star Wars film.”

Bautista also reveals that while he loved Rogue One, and its darker tone, he hasn’t actually been a big fan of the latest installments:

“I can’t say I’m the biggest fan of the latest installments,” said the actor. “I particularly loved Rogue One. I thought it was a really great film and I love that they went a little bit dark with it. I thought it was really interesting.”

Bautista last competed for the WWE in 2014, and hasn’t been been associated with the company since. He has gone on to have great success portraying “Drax The Destroyer” in the “Guardians of the Galaxy” franchise, as well as in The Avengers.

His latest film “Final Score”, which he is doing press for now, will be released next month.
