WWE World Cup Qualifying Matches announced for Smackdown Live on Tuesday

WWE World Cup

WWE has announced two qualifying matches for the World Cup Tournament on Smackdown Live, including the return of a talent who hasn’t wrestled since last September.

WWE has announced Big Show vs. Randy Orton and Jeff Hardy vs. Samoa Joe as the first two qualifying matches for Smackdown Live this Tuesday night. The qualifying matches are part of the World Cup Tournament for the Crown Jewel event on November 2.

Big Show has been out of the ring since September of last year. He revealed in an interview with ESPN back in August during SummerSlam weekend that he was close to be cleared to return to the ring and was waiting on plans from WWE creative.

WWE has not released any official details regarding this World Cup Tournament. Based on these two qualifying matches, more are expected to take place in the coming weeks leading up to the event in Saudi Arabia at King Faud University Stadium.

Already announced for Smackdown Live is a rematch from Saturday’s Super Show-Down event when Becky Lynch defends the Smackdown Women’s Championship against Charlotte Flair, in a match that was booked by Smackdown Live GM Paige.
