NXT star Nick Miller

Ryan Satin at Pro Wrestling Sheet is reporting Nick Miller, one half of the NXT tag team The Mighty, was released this past week from his WWE contract, with one source stating that Miller was “looking to go back home for personal reasons.”

Also according to the report, it is believed that Miller’s tag team partner Shane Thorne is still under contract with WWE at this time.

Before signing with WWE, Miller and Thorne were best known as Mickey Nicholls and Shane Haste in Pro Wrestling NOAH from 2011 and 2016 under the tag team name of The Mighty Don’t Knee, or TMDK for short. They also held the GHC Tag Team Titles twice.

In addition to their time in Pro Wrestling NOAH, both men made an appearance at New Japan’s Wrestle Kingdom 9 at the Tokyo Dome in January 2015.

The Mighty signed with WWE in 2016 under the tag team name of TM-61 as babyfaces before turning heel and being renamed as The Mighty.

Miller and Thorne’s last appearance as a tag team was on this past week’s episode of NXT in which they lost their match to the team of Danny Burch and Oney Lorcan.
