Matt Hardy, who has been off WWE television and out of the ring since last September, made a surprise appearance during tonight’s Smackdown Live.
Hardy made his return in his home state of North Carolina teaming with his brother Jeff Hardy against The Bar (Sheamus and Cesaro).
The Hardy’s picked up the win in the tag team match. Cesaro had been originally scheduled to face Johnny Gargano in singles action, as advertised earlier by WWE.
Tuesday was Matt’s first match back in the ring for WWE since last September, when he told WWE cameras “it’s time for me to go home.” Just last week, Hardy revealed on Twitter that he only had 11 days remaining on his current WWE contract.
