Kofi Kingston earns WWE Championship match at WrestleMania 35 in two weeks

Kofi Kingston is officially headed to WrestleMania 35.

After weeks and weeks of teases, Vince McMahon booked Big E and Xavier Woods of the New Day in a tag team gauntlet on Tuesday night during Smackdown Live. If Big E and Woods were able to win the gauntlet, Kofi would get his title shot at WrestleMania.

As noted in Roy Nemer’s live Smackdown recap, Big E and Woods were able to defeat Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson, Shinsuke Nakamura and Rusev, Sheamus and Cesaro, Smackdown Tag Team Champions The Usos (via forfeit) and the team of WWE Champion Daniel Bryan and Rowan to grant Kofi his title match in two weeks at WrestleMania.

Daniel Bryan defending the WWE Championship against Kingston is now the 13th match added to the card for WrestleMania 35 at Metlife Stadium.

Vince McMahon is backstage and he is told that Big E and Xavier Woods won the match. Vince says Kofi Kingston is going to Wrestlemania but the question is can a B+ player defeat Daniel Bryan for the WWE championship. Vince gets into his limo and leaves.
