On Friday, former WWE CEO Linda McMahon announced she would be resigning from her role as head of the Small Business Administration in the Trump administration.
The resignation, which is effective April 12, doesn’t mean McMahon will be parting ways completely with the White House and the Trump cabinet.
In a video posted by the White House (above) on Friday, President Trump talked about McMahon leaving her role as part of the Small Business Administration to “help us with a very important year and a half we have coming up” in regards to the reelection. This will be part of next year’s 2020 reelection Presidential campaign process.
The McMahon family has had a continued relationship with President Trump, dating back to Trump’s involvement by hosting WrestleMania events at the Trump Plaza and his later high-profile involvement at WrestleMania 23 with Vince McMahon. The McMahon family also visited the White House back in February of 2017.
