New WWE Hall of Famer “Road Dogg” Brian James informed the company that he is resigning his position as the co-lead writer of WWE Smackdown Live.
According to a report from PWInsider and F4WOnline, James informed WWE on Wednesday of his decision. James was reported to be frustrated for some time over an excessive amount of changes made to the script of Smackdown. The breaking point is said to have happened this past Tuesday at Smackdown Live in Brooklyn, New York.
James has been the co-lead writer of Smackdown Live since January 2017. James worked alongside Stephen Guerrieri, who will remain the lead writer of the show and has been working out of Stamford, Connecticut.
Today I pray that I face the change, that is inevitably coming, head on and with faith and courage. The only constant is change! #HOPE #FAITH #OUDK
