McMahon resigns from CT Board of Education

Several news sources, including the Hartford Courant and the NBC affiliate station in Connecticut, are reporting that Linda McMahon has resigned from her post on the CT Board of Education.

McMahon, who is vying for a seat in the U.S. Senate, has served on the board for a year. She is said to resign “citing a new legal opinion by state election officials that restricts political activities from board members.” The legal opinion was issued last month.

In her resignation letter to Governor Jodi Rell, McMahon said the new restrictions make it impossible for her to remain on the panel and regrets having to quit the board.
