WWE announces RAW and Smackdown Live tapings at Madison Square Garden in September

WWE MSG

WWE has announced that the company will be returning to Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York for two nights of television tapings in September.

On September 9, WWE Monday Night RAW will emanate from Madison Square Garden for the first time since November 16, 2009. The following day on September 10, WWE Smackdown Live will air from the arena for the first time since April 28, 2009.

Madison Square Garden has long been considered to be the home of WWE, as the wrestling company has been a mainstay in the arena for well over 50 years. Costs of taping television in the arena became prohibitive over the past decade, so the company has opted to run only live events there.

WWE has come back to MSG for the 2011 Survivor Series and the 2013 WWE Hall of Fame ceremony events, as well as a WWE Network exclusive in October 2015.
