Big changes made to RAW and Smackdown writing teams

According to new reports from F4WOnline and Fightful, big changes were made Wednesday to the writing teams of WWE RAW and Smackdown Live.

It is being said that Ryan Ward, who had been the lead writer for Smackdown Live is officially out on what is being called a personal leave.

Ed Koskey, who had been the lead writer for RAW, is being moved to Smackdown Live and will be working with Eric Bischoff.

Jonathan Beackstrom has taken over as the lead writer for RAW and will work under Paul Heyman.

According to the same reports, Koskey has been with WWE for more than 18 years, and has been a key writer for more than a decade and is currently Vice President of Creative Writing.

It is also being reported that Beackstrom had been the lead writer for 205 Live since November 2016.  However, Heyman brought him over to RAW when he started as the Executive Producer for the show.

In addition, it is also being said that the writing teams for RAW and Smackdown Live are being split before the official talent split comes the second week in October, just a week after the blue brand moves to FOX at 8:00pm ET on Friday, October 4.

It should also be noted that in recent weeks that several media sources have reported  Vince McMahon has “torn up” Smackdown Live scripts just hours before the show was scheduled to air and then heavily edited or re-wrote them completely.
