James Gunn, Director for the Suicide Squad Sequel has unveiled on Twitter Friday the cast for the DC Comic film to include WWE Superstar John Cena.
Cena is expected to play DC Comics character Peacemaker in the film, as this is expected to be the first ever live action incarnation of the character which is a soldier and super-hero who loves peace so much he is willing to kill for it.
The Peacemaker character was originally created by Charlton Comics but acquired by DC in the mid 1980s.
The film which is written and to be directed by James Gunn will also star Margot Robbie and Idris Elba. Robbie will reprise her role as Harley Quinn from the first Suicide Squad film. Jai Courtney will be returning to reprise his role as Captain Boomerang. Elba’s role has not been revealed.
Suicide Squad 2 is slated for an August 2021 release.
