Brock Lesnar challenges for the WWE Championship on SmackDown’s FOX debut

Brock Lesnar on SmackDown

The main event of Friday Night SmackDown’s debut on FOX has been confirmed.

After appearing on last night’s episode of SmackDown Live, Brock Lesnar will be challenging Kofi Kingston for the WWE Championship. Lesnar appeared on the show and attacked Kingston leaving him laying with an F-5 after he accepted Paul Heyman’s challenge.

This will be Lesnar’s first televised match since wrestling Hardcore Holly on a taping of Smackdown on March 2, 2004 (courtesy of ProFightDB). Lesnar was victorious in that match.

SmackDown Live moves from the USA Network to FOX on October 4, the start of a 5-year, $1 billion deal. Wrestleview will have live coverage of the event beginning at 8 p.m. Eastern/7:00 Central.
