WWE announced today that one more legend has been added to Friday’s festivities with this Friday’s debut of SmackDown on FOX: Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
Johnson, who coined the word “SmackDown” (which was added to Webster’s Dictionary in 2007), was long rumored to be appearing on the show.
The Rock joins a long list of legends appearing on the show to celebrate the 20th anniversary of SmackDown, including Stone Cold Steve Austin, Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, and others.
FINALLY…I come back home to my @WWE universe.
This FRIDAY NIGHT, I’ll return for our debut of SMACKDOWN!
LIVE on @FOXTV.
There’s no greater title than #thepeopleschamp.
And there’s no place like home.
