WWE Superstar Mike Kanellis announced on Twitter that he has requested his release from WWE.
Kanellis, real name Mike Bennett, expressed dissatisfaction at only working one day a week when he initially came to WWE to work full time. He has not been used on any of the WWE Live Events in recent months. Bennett also stated that he was bringing his work frustrations home with him and it was not fair to his family. Bennett stated that he wants to travel around the world and wrestle to let his daughter see him do what he does best.
Bennett’s wife Maria Kanellis also commented on Instagram stating that family is first and she supports her husband’s decision.
The Bennetts debuted in WWE as a couple back in June 2017. Mike Kanellis wrestled mostly exclusively on WWE 205 Live before moving to Raw in July 2019, where both husband and wife became WWE 24/7 Champions.
