Paul “Triple H” Levesque announced on Twitter that NXT TakeOver: Tampa will be taking place the night before WrestleMania 36 on Saturday, April 4, 2020 from the Amalie Arena.
Tickets for the event will go on sale this Friday, December 13. This will be the fifth time NXT has run a TakeOver event in conjunction with WrestleMania weekend.
This marks the return to Saturday night for NXT TakeOver on WrestleMania weekend. The event was held on a Friday in Brooklyn last year to avoid competing against the NJPW/ROH Supercard at Madison Square Garden. The WWE Hall of Fame ceremony was instead held on Saturday.
The next NXT TakeOver will take place as a standalone show from Portland, Oregon on Sunday, February 16. Triple H also announced dates for a road trip in February leading up to that event.
