NXT star Fandango reveals he underwent surgery on his elbow

WWE NXT star Fandango revealed on Instagram (view below) that he underwent Tommy John surgery on his left elbow.

On the December 12 NXT Injury report, it was stated that Fandango may have suffered a dislocated elbow during the December 11 episode of WWE NXT.

The injury occurred during the match with his tag team partner Tyler Breeze when Fandango did an elbow drop off the top of the ring apron onto the one of the Singh Brothers who was on the floor.  He was sent to the Emergency Room for imaging.

Tommy John Surgery is formally known as ulnar collateral ligament (UCL) reconstruction.

The procedure was developed by Dr. Frank Jobe in 1974 for Major League Baseball pitcher Tommy John.

The surgery is repairing the torn ulnar collateral ligament inside the elbow. The UCL is a ligament on the inner side of your elbow that helps secure your elbow joint.

UCL reconstruction surgery involves harvesting a tendon from your own body, and attaching it to act as a new UCL.

Fandango was previously out of action for a year after a labrum tear in his left shoulder.

He made a surprise return on the July 31, 2018 episode of WWE NXT making the save for Tyler Breeze on the episode of WWE NXT and reuniting the Breezango tag team.

There is no word on how long Fandango will be out of action.
