Carmella vs. Namoi set for SmackDown, winner challenges Bayley at Super ShowDown

Bayley to defend the SmackDown Women’s Title at Super ShowDown

WWE will once again make history as Bayley will defend the WWE Super ShowDown with the first-ever Women’s Championship match to take place in Saudi Arabia.

WWE announced during last night’s episode of WWE SmackDown that Bayley will defend the SmackDown Women’s Title at Super ShowDown on Thursday, February 27.

WWE also confirmed the announcement on Twitter, which you can see below this report.

Carmella and Naomi will go one-on one at Friday Night SmackDown next week in Phoenix, AZ to determine who will be Bayley’s challenger at Super ShowDown. Bayley retained the title against Carmella in the opening match of last night’s show. The finish of the match saw Bayley pinning Carmella using the ropes for leverage. Bayley then attacked Carmella post-match. Naomi then came out and got in the face of Bayley. Carmella pushed Bayley, then Naomi hit an enzuigiri on Bayley and then Carmella gave Bayley a superkick.

Carmella and Naomi both did backstage interviews later in show saying they wanted a title shot for the SmackDown Women’s Championship.

After women’s matches had not granted for the first three shows in WWE’s 10-year deal with Saudi Arabia, the first women’s match in the country took place at Crown Jewel back on October 31, 2019, with Natalya vs. Lacey Evans.

Super ShowDown will take place at Mohammed Abdu Arena on the Boulevard in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and will air live on the WWE Network beginning at 12:00 pm ET.

The latest lineup for the event is as follows:

– WWE Championship Match: Brock Lesnar defending against Ricochet.

– Bayley defending the WWE SmackDown Women’s Title against Carmella or Naomi.

– SmackDown Tag Team Championship Match: The New Day (Kofi Kingston and Big E) defending against The Miz & John Morrison)
