Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings states that WWE is considered an “essential business”

WWE deemed essential business

After the Governor of Florida Ron DeSantis issued a stay at home order for the state to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, many wondered what that would mean for WWE’s taping schedule. WWE has taped all of their empty arena shows at the WWE Performance Center and Full Sail University.

Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings stated earlier today that WWE is being considered an “essential business” and will be allowed to continue producing live shows. Demings did state that the company was not deemed essential business originally, but after speaking with the governor’s office, the change was made.

“Originally, they were not deemed an essential business. With some conversation with the governor’s office regarding the governor’s order, they were deemed an essential business.”
