Ric Flair and WWE come to terms on “The Man” trademarks

According to a new report from PWInsider, on May 18, 2020 WWE and Ric Flair came to an agreement in which Flair sold all rights to “The Man” trademarks.

In an iinterview with TMZ last September, Flair intended to file a trademark in an attempt to force WWE to pay him royalties Becky Lynch’s “The Man” gimmick.

Flair stated in a previous interview with TMZ that he filed a trademark application for the term “The Man” and was attempting to work out a private agreement with WWE for the company’s continued use by Becky Lynch before he considered any further legal action if WWE was not willing to pay him.

He has been using “The Man” term since 1981, which includes merchandise and an autobiography with that term in the title.

Flair recently signed a new deal with WWE, so it is being said that this agreement was likely a by-product of the new contract.
