According to a new report by Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline, Samoa Joe is now considered to be the permanent replacement for Jerry “The King” Lawler on the Raw commentary team.
Joe is still waiting to be cleared from the major concussion he suffered in February during a WWE commercial shoot. It is not known whether he will continue in that role when he is eventually cleared. It is thought he could take on the role as a part time wrestler and announcer, similar to how Jerry Lawler entered the company in the early-1990s.
While dealing with a previous injury, Samoa Joe did time on commentary in late-2019, replacing Dio Maddin.
