Chris DeJoseph, one of the lead writers of Friday Night SmackDown, has reportedly been released from WWE.
The report was first made by Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline. PWInsider later stated that DeJoseph had recently been promoted before being let go. The reason for the release is not known in full, but it is said that it had nothing to do with the recent cost-cutting releases and furloughs from this past April due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
DeJoseph is better known as the comedy character Big Dick Johnson from the mid-2000s. During that time, he served as a member of the creative team before being released in 2010.
DeJoseph was recently rehired by the company in December 2019. He had been working with MLW prior to coming back to the company.
