AJ Styles defeated Daniel Bryan in the finals of the WWE Intercontinental Championship tournament to become the new champion.
It was a SmackDown classic as AJ Styles would win that championship for the first time. Here’s how it ended:
Bryan goes after AJ’s shoulder and gets the Yes lock in on AJ Styles in the middle of the ring. AJ gets his foot on the ropes as Bryan breaks up the lock. Bryan grabs AJ’s arms and stomps AJ’s head into the mat. Bryan goes for the flying knee as AJ gets to his feet. Bryan runs, he goes for the flying knee but AJ catches him in mid air and hits the Styles Clash. Both men are down.
AJ rolls onto the ring apron. He lands the Phenomenal Forearm onto Daniel Bryan. He goes for the cover and gets the pin.
