WWE NXT General Manager Regal announced Saturday on Twitter that night one of the “Great American Bash” themed episode this Wednesday, July1 Io Shirai will face Sasha Banks in a non-title match.
The match was made following Banks taking to Twitter and challenging Shirai, who then accepted the challenge.
Shirai won the WWE NXT Women’s Championship back on June 7 at the NXT TakeOver: In Your House pay-per-view in a three-way match against Charlotte Flair and Rhea Ripley.
WWE NXT “Great American Bash” Night One will air live on USA from Full Sail University in Winter Park, FL beginning at 8:00 pm ET, going head-to-head with AEW’s Fyter Fest Night One live on TNT from Daily’s Place in Jacksonville, FL.
