NXT Injury Report: Details on Mercedes Martinez and Johnny Gargano

WWE has posted the latest NXT injury report from August 20 on their YouTube Channel, which can be viewed above.

There are two injures to report following Wednesday night’s episode of WWE NXT that aired on the USA Network.

It should be noted that these injuries are largely considered to be part of a storyline. However, legitimate injuries are usually put in with the ‘fabricated’ injuries.

Mercedes Martinez suffered undisclosed injuries with taking Rhea Ripley’s powerbomb from the apron onto the floor.  There was no word whether Martinez is cleared for action.

Johnny Gargano was checked out by WWE medics after Ridge Holland dumped him on his neck with the powerslam.  Gargano did say that did not feel any pain.  It was also noted that Gargano was sent for a precautionary CT scan. However injuries were indicated and Gargano will still compete in the Ladder Match for the vacant NXT North American Title at this Saturday’s Takeover: XXX airing live on the WWE Network.

Gargano issued the following statement on the report in regards to the scary moment with Holland:

“People act surprised that I finished the match. It’s all a part of The Gargano Way. It’s going to take a lot more than that to keep me away from Takeover. Signed, your Wednesday Knight.”
