Former WWE Superstar Wade Barrett is reportedly set to return tonight to commentate on NXT.
According to a report by Pro Wrestling Sheet, Barrett, known now as Stu Bennett, will be returning only for one night to fill in for Mauro Ranallo. F4WOnline is reporting that Ranallo, who was also absent from Saturday’s NXT TakeOver XXX broadcast, is dealing with a family situation in Canada. Corey Graves handled the commentating duties for that show.
Bennett was recently involved as a commentator for NWA Powerrr, replacing Jim Cornette in December 2019.
As Wade Barrett with WWE, Bennett won the inaugural season of NXT in 2010 under its old format. From there he would go on to be the leader of the Nexus, win the WWE Intercontinental Championship five times, and became the King of the Ring in 2015. Barrett would be released in May 2016.
