Last night on NXT TakeOver 31, WWE announced the return of the Halloween Havoc theme.
The event will take place on WWE NXT on Wednesday, October 28 on the USA Network. NXT Superstar Shotzi Blackheart was announced as the host of the show.
This is the first time that WWE has utilized the Halloween Havoc name. It was an annual PPV event for WCW from 1989 to 2000. WCW would be bought by WWF in 2001 and the name was not used since.
This is the third classic PPV name revived by the NXT brand. In June, NXT TakeOver had an In Your House theme, the WWF PPV brand used from 1995 to 1999. In July, the brand would have a two-night event with the Great American Bash theme, a WCW PPV.

NXT Halloween Havoc will take place Wednesday, Oct. 28, with NXT Superstar Shotzi Blackheart as host.
This marks the return of the celebrated sports-entertainment tradition for the first time in 20 years. First held in 1989, the October rite of passage grew to be one of WCW’s flagship events, featuring legends such as Ric Flair, Sting, Hulk Hogan, Goldberg and more.
