The Big Show Show Christmas Special release date announced; Jazz retires from the ring

Big Show Show Christmas special

Netflix has announced the release date of The Big Show Show’s Christmas Special.

The Big Show Show: Christmas will be released on the streaming platform on December 9 according to the Netflix holiday lineup. Below is the synopsis of the episode:

“When Big Show gets injured Cassy has to fill his big shoes in the hopes of winning the neighborhood Christmas competition. Meanwhile JJ, Mandy and Lola are sent on a scavenger hunt for presents only to discover spending time together might be the best gift of all.”

We reported earlier this year that Netflix did not renew The Big Show Show for a second season. The Christmas special will be a standalone episode from the 8 episodes that already aired.

Jazz retires from professional wrestling

Former ECW and WWE Superstar Jazz announced she has retired from professional wrestling.

Jazz made the revelation on a recent episode of The Chris Van Vliet Show.

“Maybe I was a few months ago, but honestly, I just had my last match this past Sunday. I’m done with in-ring; last match. Yeah, I’m going to say ever. I’m done. I’m limping right now, so I’m done yes. Yeah, but I’m not going to Terry Funk it. I’m done.

“I was going to do a whole tour in 2020, but with the pandemic happening, that kind of screwed everything up. But we’ll see for 2021. I may try to do a little tour around.”

“I’m really done. But I go out there and do 45 seconds – 1 minute. That’s all I got.”

Jazz also stated she has been dealing with back and knee problems, forcing her to retire at 48 years old.

Jazz started in professional wrestling in 1999 and quickly signed on with Extreme Championship Wrestling. After the company folded in 2001, she joined WWF/E and debuted at Survivor Series that year. She would go on to be a two-time WWF/E Women’s Champion.

After being released in 2004, she wrestled on the independent circuit. She would be re-hired by WWE in 2006, but was released in early 2007 along with her husband, Rodney Mack. She found much success in her post-WWE career, including holding the NWA Women’s Championship from 2016 to 2019.
