New match added to NXT New Year’s Evil on January 6; NXT Year End Awards revealed

NXT New Year's Evil updated card

A new match has been added to the January 6 episode of NXT, being named New Year’s Evil, the first episode of 2021.

Lince Dorado of Monday Night Raw will challenge Santos Escobar for the NXT Cruiserweight Championship on the show. The match was set after the Lucha House Party came out during an Escobar promo tonight on NXT where he was saying they owned Lucha Libre. The Lucha House Party took exception with that and defeated Joaquin Wilde and Raul Mendoza in a tag team match.

Also announced for the show is the return of Xia Li and Boa following a series of mysterious vignettes of them with a mystery person.

We will have live coverage of NXT New Year’s Evil next week starting at 8 p.m. Eastern/7 Central.

Here is the updated card for New Year’s Evil:

NXT Championship
Finn Bálor (c) vs. Kyle O’Reilly

Last Woman Standing
Rhea Ripley vs. Raquel Gonzalez

Fight Pit
Timothy Thatcher vs. Tommaso Ciampa

NXT Cruiserweight Championship
