Rey Mysterio signs a new deal with WWE

In an interview with Justin Barrasso at Sport Illustrated, Rey Mysterio confirms he has re-signed with WWE.

Mysterio told SI that he will “keep wrestling, at least until Father Time catches up and says, ‘It’s time to go.’ ”

The 46-year-old Mysterio signed with WWE in 2002 a year after WWE acquired WCW where Mysterio was a five time  WCW Cruiserweight Champion and a three time WCW Tag Team Champion.

Mysterio left WWE in 2015 where he returned to Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide, as well as work for Lucha Underground and New Japan Pro Wrestling.  He would return to WWE in 2018.

Mysterio noted that a key decision to re-sign with WWE was to be on-screen with his wife, Angie, and daughter, Aalyah, and work with his son Dominik.

The terms of the new deal were not made public.
